Advisor Information Session

Dear Advisors,

As you may well have heard, there are a number of policy and procedure changes occurring at SJSU. With academic probation and disqualification policies changing, new requirements for instructors to specify course completion requirements for students receiving incomplete grades, and new criteria for non-impacted majors, faculty and staff advisors, as well as students, will need to plan now to make smooth transitions in the future.

Therefore, the Advising Council will offer an informational session to clarify some of the policies and procedures for you. In this session, Dr. Steve Branz, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies, will discuss the following topics on Monday, November 8, 2010 from 8:45-10:00am (refreshments will be available 8:30-8:45am) in Engineering room 285/7.

In this session, Dr. Branz will:
* Discuss changes to academic probation, disqualification, and reinstatement policies/procedures; University Policy S10-6

* Review policy related to Incomplete grades, including the new requirement for "Incomplete Contracts" in order to record an "I" grade; University Policy S09-7 (Section I.B.)

* Discuss Change of Major criteria for impacted and non-impacted majors
