Hello SJSU Advising Community,
As you know, SJSU has admitted an unprecedented number of Fall 2010 Undeclared transfer students. With over 1000 of new transfer Undeclared students, the Advising Council is working on a number of initiatives to help them choose a major. One of these initiatives is the Undeclared Transfer Advising Expo, which will take place on Thursday, October 14, 2010. At this event, students will have the opportunity to attend a pre-event session facilitated by Lee Rosenfield, Career Consultant, at 9:00am in Engineering 189. At 11:00am in Engineering 285/7, students will be able to meet with department representatives.
The Pre-Event Session will help students:
*Consider new paths to the intended career.
*Explore new career possibilities.
*Learn how to get the most from the Expo.
The Undeclared Transfer Expo will give students an opportunity to:.
*Talk with representatives from SJSU’s seven colleges.
*Connect with Career Consultants and Counselors.
*Learn about various majors, minors and career paths.
*Meet with faculty, staff and peer advisors for guidance.
Date: Thursday, October 14th
Pre-Event Session: 9:30-11:00am in Engineering 189
Expo Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Expo Location: Engineering Building, room 285
Please strongly encourage your Undeclared Transfer students to attend this event. Although these students have received event announcements in their MySJSU accounts, they are more likely to participate with your encouragement. We ask for your support in encouraging students to attend.
Kind Regards,
The Advising Council
